Gretaflora
Gretaflora is a shoe brand from Buenos Aires with a small selected collection. Their claim “Zapatos para Novias, Noche y Tango” shows they offer beautiful shoes for weddings, dance nights or milongas. Their signature element is a big flower – the camellia – on the shoes, often in the front. Some shoes beautifully reference the fashion style of the 40ies. The brand is named after their two founders. The local store seems to have fully closed in August 2025.

Owner & history
Greta Santolalla and Florencia Méndez Christie founded Gretaflora in 2003 to produce tango shoes, which later on led to production of shoes for special occasions. Beautiful colors and details with a romantic twist – symbolised by the camellia flower on many models – make the shoes stand out until today.

Tangolera uses scraps to make the distinctive appliqués, like the camellia flower.

Shoe sizes & fit
These shoes are known for their solid craftsmanship and neat fit. The shoes made from goat or cow leather have round toes and comfortable heels and are available in many colors, produced for sizes 35 to 40 (sometimes 41).
They tend to be on the firmer side, which promotes stability and precision, but may feel less cushioned during very long dance nights. See the “tabla the talles” for shoe lengths.
